Save Big with Father’s Day Discounts

No matter how old or how young, we all want to keep our fathers around as long as possible. And there’s just no doubt that investing in cardiovascular health is the best way to lengthen and strengthen your life. For Father’s Day, buying the old man a treadmill makes tremendous sense, especially given all the great deals out there. My own father is now retired and plays golf as often as he can. Last year I bought him a NordicTrack 1250 as a gift and he’s turned into a fan of the workouts. Having a treadmill in the home can make up for those rainy days when golf isn’t an option, and it never ceases to amaze me how many older men I see running charity 5k races around town.

The treadmills out on the market this year represent some of the best fitness technology I’ve ever seen. Whether you want built-in routines or live workouts, Bluetooth heart rate monitors, or perhaps just a simple walking pad, it’s unbelievable how far the industry has come in recent years. Whether your father wants to shed a few pounds or perhaps to compete in a half-marathon, buying a good treadmill is definitely a good move. And what’s I’m seeing this year is treadmill prices anywhere from $699 to $6,000, which means there is indeed something for everyone.

This year, Father’s Day is Sunday June 16. I’ve noticed a number of terrific Father’s Day specials on treadmills and other cardio equipment, many of which come with expedited shipping. I know how big an improvement in my own health having a home treadmill has made. This year, you can bring the same benefit home to your own father, in some cases for as little as hundreds of dollars. And let’s face it, he has plenty of neckties.

Shoppers can save big on the newest treadmill models from NordicTrack, ProForm, Sole and other leading brands. The deals are usually substantial, often involving savings upwards of $1,000. We also appreciate the fact that brands frequently opt to forego the “coupon code method” in favor of slashing prices for a limited timeframe. As with years past, we’ve found some pretty significant deals on a wide range of treadmill categories across the web.

Interestingly enough not all sales are as substantial as they seem. Brands in every category (not just fitness), have a tendency to artificially inflate base prices ahead of a sale period in order to make their discounts appear more substantial than they really are. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered there. We always ensure to include the standard list price of each treadmill in our reviews, so you can see how significant each Father’s Day discount really is.

Just a Sample of Top Father’s Day Sales:

One of the best all-round home treadmills around, the Sole F80 is on sale this Father’s Day for just $1,599.99. What I love about the Sole F80 is how pragmatic it is for the average user, particularly for seniors. With 10 built-in workout programs plus two that are user-defined, even the grandkids could use this machine without too much instruction. That said, it syncs with the cost-free Sole+ workout app and features Bluetooth speakers as well as a charging station. The Sole F80 sports a 10.1″ touchscreen as well as a nifty media rack above that. I’ve had no trouble attaching my own iPad and iPhone to the media rack while I run. This treadmill has a 3.5 CHP motor, 22″ x 60″ track, speeds up to 12mph, and incline range up to 15 levels. To read my full review, see here.

If your dad is into heavy-duty mountain-climbing, this X32i happens to be one of the greatest treadmills ever. The Big Daddy himself, the X32i is a monster of a machine. If your dad wants the biggest, this is it. With an award-winning 40% incline and -6% decline, as well as a gigantic 32″ high-definition touchscreen, it really does feel like you’re hiking up the Rocky Mountains when you’re using the iFit program. On sale this Father’s Day for $3,999, down from $4,499, purchase includes a 30-day trial of iFit, which brings with it automatic trainer control and Bluetooth heart rate training, as well as both live and on-demand workouts by the tens of thousands. Bigger does mean just that. I strongly recommend finding a permanent place for this unit if you buy it. Measuring 76.5″ x 40″ x 73″ at a in-box product weight of 426 pounds, I see why NordicTrack placed a 4.25 CHP motor inside to guarantee a 400-pound user maximum. You can read my full review of this treadmill here.

If your dad is more of a “Goldilocks” guy, wanting something not too big nor too small, the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is one of those. Normally $2,299, the unit is now $1,999, with a dynamic 14″ high-definition touchscreen that both pivots and swivels, as well as 12% to -3% incline and decline. Like all NordicTrack products, this unit is iFit-enabled, and brings with it a ton of goodies. It measures 80″ x 38″ x 65″ and sports a 400-pound user weight maximum. I’ve used a NordicTrack Commercial 1750 for years and love it. Read my full review here.

Right off the bat, if you like the NordicTrack Commercial 1750, then consider the 2450 a very similar model but with a 22″ high-definition screen instead of 14″. To that degree, most of the specs remain the same. You’re still looking at a 12% to -3% incline and decline with a maximum speed of 12mph, as well as iFit connectivity. The treadmills are so similar it’s quite telling when you see the pricing difference involved in the screen size. That said, the 2450 does have a slightly shorter frame measuring 78.5″ x 35.6″ x 65″ and 400lb weight capacity. For my full review of the NordicTrack Commercial 2450 read here.

Priced at just $1,499 for Father’s Day, the EXP 10i is a great smaller treadmill for those dads who want to walk briskly or perhaps jog. Built with a shorter 55″ x 20″ deck and a smaller 2.75 CHP motor, this treadmill can hit speeds of up to 10mph and 12% incline. Like all NordicTrack models, the EXP 10i is iFit-enabled and comes complete with a 30-day trial of the program and its unique automatic trainer control. The EXP 10i features a 10″ high-definition touchscreen. Bluetooth-enabled, the treadmill is great for heart rate monitors and headphones and has a 300-pound weight max. Measuring 70.8″ x 34.9″ x 59.7″ it’s a folding model that fits easily into the home. You can read my full review here.

If you want the larger screen but not necessarily the higher price, the ProForm Pro 9000 is a great machine with 22″ high-definition touchscreen, at only $1,999 this Father’s Day. Measuring 77.3″ x 35.3″ x 59.6″ with a 300lb weight limit, it sports a -3% to 12% decline to incline range with speeds up to 12mph. The 3.6 CHP motor and 20″ x 60″ running deck make it a great machine for running, walking, or jogging. An iFit-enabled treadmill, you’ll get a 30-day trial complete with Bluetooth everything as well as automatic trainer control. Yep, it’s a folding treadmill and comes with lots of little niceties like a fan and Bluetooth speakers. To read my complete review of the ProForm Pro 9000 read here.

Folding Treadmill Deals

A folding treadmill is your go-to option when space is a primary concern, and though they generally cost slightly more than others, this batch of Father’s Day Discounts could make some of the best folding treadmills fit your budget. Of the many options out there we’re especially fond of NordicTrack’s Commercial 1750 in this category, though depending on your needs or budget there are plenty of other solid options out there to choose from.

Treadmill Deals for Walkers

Thankfully treadmills for walkers are already the most affordable in the category, though there’s nothing wrong with a little additional discount, right? Our favorite treadmills for walkers have power inclines that help trainees dramatically increase calorie burn. Keep an eye out for Father’s Day discounts on treadmills with 55″ tracks and up to 20% incline.

Treadmill Deals for Serious Runners

In this category things start to get a bit more pricey, as you’re looking at treadmills with higher output electric motors—ones capable of speeds in excess of the industry-standard 10-12mph. When comparing the Father’s Day treadmill deals out there, you’ll want to consider top speed, motor output, and running surface adjustability. Many runners are also interested in power ramps; the best treadmills for runners have automated inclines, and some are also capable of decline angles as well.

Desk Treadmill Deals

Attached work surfaces and ultra-quiet motors are key when it comes to office-friendly desk treadmills. These treadmills are usually run at 2 mph to burn hundreds of calories per day—melding fitness and productivity into a single activity period. Some (but not all) desk treadmills are capable of running at more standard treadmill speeds if you’re looking to roll a proper run into your routine at lunch or the end of your day. Some have limited workout programming, but others have the same engaging workout programming found in traditional treadmills. Shopping the Father’s Day treadmill deals, you’ll see that popular desk treadmills have special features such as adjustable height, power strips for office equipment, and other tricks up their sleeve.

Cheap Treadmills

There are plenty of budget treadmills on offer for Father’s Day, but buyer beware. Low prices are attention-getting, but they aren’t always good deals. Make sure that the warranty is a good fit for the product’s quality and sale price, as the last thing you want is to buy a less reliable piece of equipment that you’ll have to replace within a year or two of ownership. For help you can see our free in-depth treadmill reviews. Also see our selection of the year’s best treadmills under $1,000.

Luxury Treadmill Discounts

Short burst sales like this one are a great time to be shopping for high-end treadmills; Father’s Day discounts on top-tier models can be thousands of dollars. Though they cost more up front, luxury treadmills are very low maintenance, have especially comfortable decks and are equipped with preset workouts. They also consistently feature much longer warranties than more entry-level models. Expect to find large HD touchscreens, WiFi connection, onboard fans and speakers, and a host of other features not found on lower price models.

Early Bird Savings

Unlike Memorial Day sales, these Father’s Day deals are often quite brief and announced relatively late in the game. Take a moment to browse our in-depth brand reviews and our best treadmill picks, so that you’re properly prepared once the deals start to surface.
